Juicy Pig BBQ Denton

When we moved to our current office 3 years ago on Hann and Austin Street, I wasn’t too familiar with Juicy Pig www.juicypigdenton.com .

My mistake!  Since going there, I’ve become a regular customer and so has our team since it’s less than 1 block away.

As a connoisseur of BBQ and someone that only has a charcoal grill made from a 50 gallon drum, I can appreciate the smokeitudeness (yes that’s a real word that I just made up).  Juicy Pig uses only locally sourced oak wood to smoke their meats in an offset smoker pit that has all of the flavor you’ll ever need in a carnivorous meat fest.  If you’re vegan or vegetarian, you should continue driving by because there ain’t a ton of vegetables being had here.

Ken Currin is the owner of Juicy Pig and Greenhouse in Denton, TX and has modeled his simple BBQ flavors after other famous TX BBQ joints that use super simple recipes mostly consisting of salt, pepper, apple juice at just right time to let the meat do most of the talking when it comes to juicy flavor.

Nobody else is making this claim but me, but I’ve been to a lot of BBQ places around Austin and Dripping Springs and this stuff is right up there at the top of the list.  Whether it’s 9.4 or 9.8 on a scale of 1-10, my simple brain can’t tell the difference.
