Tree City USA
How many of you out there knew Frisco Texas was named “Tree City USA” by the National Arbor Day Foundation? If you knew the answer, you are either “really into trees man” or live in Frisco. Since 2003, the city of Frisco has received the award which recognizes environmental improvement and encourages a higher level of tree care and tree preservation within the community. As one of the fastest growing cities in the United States, it makes sense to built for not only the present but the future. So, as new home construction goes up, so do new trees. Many of our streets are lined with trees.
The population of Frisco in 2000 was 33,714 and in 2014 it is estimated at 137,920. That is over 100,000 new residents in less then 14 years. With this population explosion, new schools have to be built. Frisco went from 1 high school in 2000 to 8 by 20015. As of 20012 Frisco ISD had over 42,000 students. So, that means there will be a lot of teenage drivers on the roads in the years to come.
